An Atascadero State Hospital patient pleaded not guilty this week to felony charges filed against him for allegedly attacking two police officers. Lee Gregory Mahlanza, 48, entered the plea Monday to assault with a deadly weapon, battery and resisting an officer, according to court records. A former prison guard was sentenced to jail Thursday for harassing a woman over the phone. Correctional officer Joel Raught, 39, who quit his job Aug. 12 at the California Men’s Colony shortly after he was arrested, was sentenced to 19 days in County Jail and two years of probation.
